1969 Chevelle Power Teams

These are the engine, transmission, and rear axle combinations for the 1969 Chevelle.

In 1969, General Motors offered five different engines in seven different horse-power ratings, nine different transmissions, and two different rear axles with nine different axle ratios.

The engines offered were the 230 with 140 hp, the 250 with 155 hp, the 307 with 200 hp, the 350 with 250 hp or 300 hp, and the 396 with 325 hp or 350 hp.

The transmissions offered were the 3 speed Saginaw with 2.85:1 or 2.54:1 ratio, the heavy duty 3 speed Muncie with 3.03:1 or 2.42:1 ratio, the 4 speed Saginaw with 2.54:1 ratio, the 4 speed Mucie with 2.52:1 or 2.20:1 ratio, the Powerglide, and the Turbo Hydra-Matic.

The rear axles were offered in either a 10 bolt or 12 bolt differential using 2.56, 2.73, 3.07, 3.08 ,3.31, 3.36, 3.55, 3.73, or 4.10 axle ratios with or without positraction.
