1965 Chevelle Power Teams

These are the engine, transmission, and rear axle combinations for the 1965 Chevelle.

In 1965, General Motors offered four different engines in seven different horse-power ratings, four different transmissions, and two different rear axles with six different axle ratios.

The engines offered were the 194 with 120 hp, the 230 with 140 hp, the 283 with 195 hp or 220 hp, and the 327 with 250 hp, 300 hp or 350 hp.

The transmissions offered were the 3 speed Saginaw with 2:94:1, the 3 speed Saginaw overdrive with 2:94:1 ratio, the 4 speed Mucie with 2.56:1 ratio, and the Powerglide.

The rear axles were offered in either a 10 bolt or 12 bolt differential using 2.73, 3.07, 3.08, 3.31, 3.36, or 3.70 axle ratios with or without positraction.
