1964 Chevelle Power Teams

These are the engine, transmission, and rear axle combinations for the 1964 Chevelle.

In 1964, General Motors offered four different engines in six different horse-power ratings, four different transmissions, and one rear axle with three different axle ratios.

The engines offered were the 194 with 120 hp, the 230 with 155 hp, the 283 with 195 hp or 220 hp, and the 327 with 250 hp or 300 hp.

The transmissions offered were the 3 speed Saginaw with 2:94:1, the 3 speed Saginaw overdrive with 2:94:1 ratio, the 4 speed Mucie with 2.56:1 ratio, and the Powerglide.

The rear axle was offered in a 10 bolt differential using 3.08, 3.36, or 3.70 axle ratios with or without positraction.
